We chose to get married at Margan Estate Winery as we found it fitting, due to the fact we both met and got engaged in the Hunter Valley. We loved the location, nestled at the base of Broken Back Range. After trying their food and wine, we were blown away by flavours the two chef hat restaurant had to offer, which boasts some of the Hunter Valleys finest food.

We chose to have our ceremony in the garden, with the vineyards and mountain range as the back drop. This not only made for stunning photos but also really set the scene for a classic Hunter Valley Vineyard wedding. We used wine barrels for the alter and dried babies breath flowers as our celebratory confetti. We chose to have simple vows that meant a lot to us, with a wine box ceremony to complete the wedding ceremony (encasing two bottles of wine for our first and tenth year anniversary).

We had a smallish wedding with 86 guests who were thoroughly entertained by resident Adelaide DJ and family friend Declan Huston. Our wedding ceremony and reception ran smoothly and felt like it went so quickly. We had such a magical time with our family and friends, we just wish it went longer.
